How Rayte.eu handles information.

The comparison does not require an account, name, telephone number or email address. This policy explains the limited technical information used to operate the site and how advertising is controlled.

1. Who is responsible

The data controller for Rayte.eu is Nicholas John Hopes, trading as Rayte.eu, Camino de la Maquinilla 18, 29788 Frigiliana, Málaga, Spain. Privacy enquiries and rights requests can be sent to nicknjh23@gmail.com.

2. Information used by the comparison

The country, annual electricity-use estimate, solar selection and export estimate entered into the comparison are used to display the requested results. These preferences are saved in local browser storage so the site can remember them on the same device. They are not used to identify a person and are not added to a Rayte.eu customer database.

When a live price is requested, the selected country code is sent to a Netlify serverless function, which obtains the relevant market data from the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform. The function does not require a name, address, meter number or supplier account.

3. Hosting, security and technical logs

Netlify hosts the website and may process standard connection information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, date, time and security events. This information is used to deliver the site, prevent abuse, investigate faults and maintain security. Processing for these purposes is based on the legitimate interests of operating a secure and reliable service.

A service worker may store public site files in a device cache to improve speed and permit limited offline access. The install-message dismissal and comparison preferences are stored on the device. Visitors can remove this information using their browser’s site-data controls.

4. Contact messages

If a visitor sends an email, Rayte.eu receives the sender’s address and the information included in the message. It is used to respond, investigate a correction or handle a legal or privacy request. Correspondence is kept only while needed for the enquiry, record-keeping or applicable legal obligations.

5. Advertising and consent

Rayte.eu uses Google AdSense on advertising-supported content pages. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a visitor’s previous visits to Rayte.eu or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables Google and its partners to serve ads based on visits to Rayte.eu and other sites on the internet.

Visitors can opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings. Other third-party vendors or ad networks may also use cookies when they are enabled for this site; their identities, purposes and controls are shown in the consent message. Further details of how Google uses information from sites that use its services are available on Google’s partner-sites information page.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland, advertising choices are managed through Google’s certified consent management platform. It offers Consent, Do not consent and Manage options. Choices can be changed later using the “Privacy and cookie settings” link that Google provides on advertising-supported pages when available. Browser site-data controls and Google Ads Settings provide additional ways to review or remove advertising storage. Depending on the visitor’s choices and applicable law, Google may serve personalised, non-personalised or limited ads.

6. External websites and sponsors

Rayte.eu links to suppliers, regulators, market operators and a clearly labelled sponsor. Opening an external link takes the visitor to a different organisation with its own privacy practices. Rayte.eu does not control those external sites.

7. International processing

Technology providers may process information outside Spain or the European Economic Area. Where data-protection law requires it, providers are expected to rely on an approved transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards.

8. Retention

Device preferences remain until the visitor clears them or the site replaces them. Hosting and security logs are retained according to the hosting provider’s operational and legal schedules. Contact information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to handle the relevant enquiry and meet legal obligations.

9. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, a person may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict personal data, object to certain processing, withdraw consent and receive portable data. Requests can be sent to nicknjh23@gmail.com. Identity may need to be verified before a request is completed.

People in Spain may also lodge a complaint with the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.

10. Children and changes

The service is intended for adults comparing household energy information and is not directed at children. This policy may be updated when the service, providers or legal requirements change. The current date will always appear at the top of this page.
