What Rayte.eu does
European electricity markets are not identical. Taxes, network charges, regulated tariffs, metering arrangements and solar export rules differ between countries and sometimes between regions. Rayte.eu brings the first stage of the search into one consistent interface: choose a country, review verified supplier links, view a current wholesale benchmark and continue to the relevant official source for an address-specific comparison.
The service does not sell electricity, automatically switch customers or claim that a wholesale price is the final price on a household bill. A supplier or national comparison service must confirm eligibility, contract conditions and the final amount.
Why the project exists
Rayte began with a practical frustration: supplier pages, wholesale prices, solar-export offers and the lines on a household bill often appear to describe the same thing when they do not. The project is designed to keep those layers separate and to show the route from a headline claim to a contract that can be checked.
The editorial work is informed by operating a solar-and-battery household at La Quinta near Frigiliana, Málaga. That experience makes measurement boundaries important: inverter generation is not grid export, battery discharge is not new generation, and an advertised compensation rate is not the amount that necessarily reaches a bill. The La Quinta case study publishes the 2022 system specification and cost, full-year 2025 monitoring, an anonymised bill example and the limits of one household’s experience.
Experience behind the publication
Nicholas has owned and operated the La Quinta solar-and-battery system since its installation in 2022. His direct experience includes reviewing inverter and battery monitoring, reconciling production with import and export data, checking multi-period Spanish bills, using surplus compensation, managing backup power and documenting grid over-voltage and under-voltage shutdowns. In May 2026 the system was extended with west-facing panels to shift more generation into the afternoon.
This is practical owner experience, not a claim to be a licensed electrician, installer, lawyer or regulated financial adviser. Technical work belongs with qualified professionals; binding tariff and legal terms belong with suppliers, regulators and official publications. Rayte’s role is to show the evidence, explain the calculation and make the handoff clear.
How information is selected
Supplier identities and outbound links are reviewed against official supplier, regulator or market-operator websites. National comparison and consumer-information sources are preferred where they exist. Live day-ahead market information is obtained from the ENTSO-E Transparency Platform and is clearly labelled as a market benchmark.
Supplier cards are a directory, not a paid ranking. They can be sorted by broad availability, supplier name or directory order. Rayte.eu does not invent retail prices or attach an estimated household saving to a real supplier when that supplier has not supplied the figure.

Editorial independence and sponsorship
Commercial support is kept separate from comparison results. Sponsored sections are visibly labelled, and sponsored outbound links are marked for search engines. A sponsor does not receive a higher supplier ranking, control the market data or approve Rayte.eu’s editorial explanations.
Corrections are welcomed. Energy offers and website addresses can change, so anyone who finds an outdated supplier link, inaccurate description or attribution issue can contact Rayte.eu with the relevant country, page and source.
How guides are reviewed
Rayte guides are written to answer a practical consumer question rather than repeat a supplier’s marketing. The research starts with legislation, regulators, public comparison services and government energy agencies. Commercial pages are used to describe a supplier’s own offer, but not as the sole authority for general market rules. Worked examples are labelled as fictional and do not present an illustrative price as a current quotation.
Each substantial guide shows a review date and links to the principal official sources used. When a rule varies by country or contract, the guide says so and directs the reader to the national source. Rayte separates wholesale market information from retail tariffs and does not promise savings that have not been calculated from a real address and bill.
