Start every electricity comparison at the right national source.

Electricity prices cannot be compared reliably with one EU-wide unit rate. Taxes, network areas, regulated products, meter types and contract rules are national—and sometimes regional. This directory takes you to the regulator, authorised comparison service or consumer authority for every EU country.

How to use this directory

Begin with a recent bill and record the postcode, annual consumption in kilowatt-hours, contracted capacity where applicable, meter type and current contract end date. Open the national source below and enter the same information for every offer. If the source is a regulator rather than a calculator, use its consumer section to identify recognised suppliers, regulated products and switching rules.

A comparison result is a starting point, not a contract. Confirm the final annual estimate, standing charge, taxes, price-change mechanism, exit fee, payment conditions and any bundled maintenance service on the supplier’s own site. Solar households should compare the import tariff and export compensation together.
